Madrasa of Aljāy al-Yūsufī (Cairo)

Located in Suq al-Silah (a few meters away from the palace of emir Manjak), Cairo.

One emblem above the entrance gate.

Inscription:

بسمله … امر بإنشاء هذا الجامع والمدرسة المباركة المقر الأشرف الجاي أتابك العساكر المنصورة الملكي الأشرفي غفر الله له واجميع المسلمين بتأريخ شهر رجب سنة أربع وسبعين وسبعمائة

In the name of the most merciful God. Ordered to construct this Mosque and blessed school His Most Noble Excellency Aljāy, Commander-in-Chief of the victorious armies, (officer) of al-Malik al-Ashraf, may God forgive him and all Muslims. In the month of Rajab 774 (January 1373).
