Madrasa and mausoleum of Arghūn al-Kāmilī (Jerusalem)

Located on the west side of the Haram, Jerusalem.

Two emblems framing an inscription above the entrance door:

بسمله أمر بإنشاء هذا التربة والمدرسة المباركة المقرّ الأشرف السيفي أرغون الكاملي نائب السلطنة الشريفة بالشأم المحروس كان وتوفّي الى رحمة الله تعالى ثامن عشرين شوّال سنة ثان وخمسين وسبع مائة وتواّي شدّها وتكميلها ركن الدين بيبرص السيفي وكملت في ربيع الآخر سنة تسع وخمسين وسبع مائة

In the name of the most merciful God. Ordered to build this mausoleum and this blessed madrasa His Most Noble Excellency Sayf al-dīn Arghūn al-Kāmilī, late Governor of the Noble Sultanate in the protected Damascus. Passed into the mercy of God the Exalted the 28th Shawwāl 758 (14th October 1357). Rukn al-dīn Baybarṣ al-Sayfī was charged with the inspection and completion of the building. It was completed in Rabī’ II 759 (13th March-10th April 1358).
